Step1: R&D audit

This phase of data collection involves review of documentation like quality books, process documents, job definitions, design and verification guidelines, specifications, verification and validation plans. We will inquire about your best practices,  lessons learnt and competitive information. We will analyze available design metrics. We will review the details of design flows and practices.  We will interview your managers, technical leaders and designers in the team to get better visibility on their real practice.

Step 2: SWOT 'Strength Weakness Opportunities and Threat' analysis

The scope of the SWOT will be your R&D organization or project as agreed initially or as updated after the Audit. We will compile all above data into a SWOT. You will critique review this SWOT analysis. 

Step 3: Corrective action plan

We will compile the outcome of the SWOT into corrections and improvements action plan. This plan will be reviewed with you  and consolidated either into a  W3  (What When Who) action list or into a comprehensive improvement program. Our level of involvement in the execution of the plan will be agreed upon at this step.

Step 4:   Corrective action plan implementation follow up

We will take in charge this follow up according to the agreed upon W3 or execution plan. This will be achieved through periodic reviews including regular visits for reviewing progress and problems and driving to successful implementation of  your R&D program management and design methodology improvements 

Step 5:  Incorporation into  best practices and  policies

We will propose and agree with you a selection of items to be documented, incorporated and monitored in your R&D best  practices, guidelines and policies.

We will provide ad hoc consulting and assistance regarding any R&D topic in the SC Design domain. This ranges from board meetings participation, to audits, reviews, lectures, trainings, working sessions,  on any topic related to  SC design.  The scope covers products strategy, R&D organization and staffing, contracting strategy, program management as well as design methodology and EDA.
